1. Who can apply for the Vidya Ratna Teachers’ Award 2025?
2. Are private school teachers eligible?
Yes. Teachers from both government and private schools are eligible, provided the school is affiliated with CBSE, ICSE, or the Kerala State Board and located in Kerala.
3. Can a teacher apply for more than one category?
No. Each applicant must apply under one primary category only, based on their current teaching responsibility or initiative focus.
4. What is the minimum teaching experience required?
- For all categories except Young Educator:
More than 5 years of total teaching experience - For Young Educator category:
Minimum 1 year and maximum 5 years of total teaching experience
All experience calculations are considered as on December 31, 2025.
5. What teaching segments are covered under the awards?
The awards recognize teachers across the following segments:
- Pre-Primary (Pre-Nursery to UKG)
- Primary (Grade 01 to Grade 05)
- Secondary (Grade 06 to Grade 10)
- STEM Subjects
- Non-STEM Subjects
6. Are Initiative-Based Categories open to all teachers?
Yes. Initiative-Based Categories are open to teachers across Pre-Primary, Primary, Secondary, and Senior Secondary segments, provided they meet the eligibility requirements.
7. How can teachers apply for the awards?
All applications must be submitted through the mandatory online application process. Offline or incomplete submissions will not be considered.
8. Is there an application or nomination fee?
No. There is no application or nomination fee for the Vidyaratnam Teachers’ Awards 2026.
9. What documents are required during application?
Applicants will be required to submit basic professional details and supporting documentation as part of the application. All submissions will undergo an eligibility and documentation review.

Applications are assessed through a multi-stage evaluation process, subject to the applicable Terms & Conditions:
- Initial eligibility and documentation screening conducted by EY
- Detailed evaluation and shortlisting by an independent Expert Jury
- Final determination of winners in each category by the Grand Jury
11. What is the Student-Nominated Award?
The Student-Nominated Award recognizes teachers nominated directly by students through a defined nomination process.
12. How can students nominate a teacher?
Students can nominate a teacher by submitting the nomination form and providing details on:
- Teacher’s influence
- Personal impact on learning and growth
- Inspirational contributions
13. How are Student-Nominated Awards evaluated?
Student nominations are editorially screened to shortlist candidates, subject to the applicable Terms & Conditions. Shortlisted teachers may be invited to present before the Grand Jury, which determines the final winner
14. Can a teacher be both nominated by students and apply independently?
Yes. However, each category is evaluated independently, and eligibility criteria apply separately.
15. Will all applicants be informed of the results?
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next stages of evaluation. Due to the volume of entries, individual feedback may not be provided.
