Eligibility & Process
Eligibility Criteria
The Vidya Ratna Teachers Award 2025 are open to eligible school teachers currently serving in Kerala, subject to the criteria outlined below.
1. Applicable Boards
The applicant must be a full-time school teacher currently teaching in a school affiliated to one of the following boards:
- CBSE
- ICSE
- Kerala State Board
2. Location & Minimum Service
- The school must be located in the state of Kerala
- The applicant must have been actively teaching at the school for a minimum of one year
- Service period is calculated as on December 31, 2025
3. Teaching Segment Classification
The applicant must fall under one primary teaching segment, based on current teaching responsibility:
- Pre-Primary
Pre-Nursery, Nursery, KG, LKG (Lower Kindergarten), UKG (Upper Kindergarten) - Primary
Grade 01 to Grade 05 - Secondary
Grade 06 to Grade 10 - STEM Subjects
Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics - Non-STEM Subjects
Humanities, Arts, Literature or Management – related subjects
4. Experience Requirement (All Categories Except Young Educator)
- Applicants must have more than 5 years of total teaching experience
- Experience is calculated as on December 31, 2025
5. Young Educator Category – Experience Criteria
For the Young Educator category:
- Minimum teaching experience: 1 year
- Maximum teaching experience: 5 years
- Experience calculated as on December 31, 2025
