The Registered Nurse in Oncology is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to patients, with a focus on chemotherapy administration and related treatments. This role involves working 3x12 hour day shifts, including every other weekend, and requires the ability to float within scope to meet facility needs.

Responsibilities:
- Administer chemotherapy treatments, including continuous infusions and IV push.
- Manage and dispose of cytotoxic spills.
- Monitor patients undergoing chemotherapy and recognize/communicate abnormal lab values.
- Access and manage ports, administer coagulation factors, antifungals, and antivirals.
- Perform blood/blood product administration.
- Provide care and management of central lines and PICC lines, including blood draws.
- Start IVs and provide general IV therapy/infusion care.
- Perform patient assessments and document care in Cerner.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Float within scope to meet facility needs.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Illinois (in hand or in application process).
- Minimum 1 year of experience.
- Chemotherapy certification.
- Proficiency in administering chemotherapy, managing body fluids post-chemotherapy, and handling cytotoxic spills.
- Expertise in accessing ports, administering coagulation factors, antifungals, antivirals, and blood/blood products.
- Competence in central line and PICC line care, including blood draws.
- Ability to start IVs.
- BLS certification.

Special Considerations:
- Will work every other weekend.
- Must be able to float within scope to meet facility needs.
- The client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen-week assignment without pay.
- On-call is not required.
- RTO restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days.

- 3x12 hour day shifts (0715-1845).
- Every other weekend required.
