The Junior Varsity Volleyball Coach is responsible for developing the skills, sportsmanship, and character of student-athletes in accordance with Catholic values. The coach leads practices, game preparation, and team development, while serving as a positive role model both on and off the court.
Plan and lead volleyball practices that build individual and team skills.
Instruct players on rules, techniques, and strategies appropriate to junior varsity competition.
Foster a team culture of respect, responsibility, and Christian sportsmanship.
Supervise student-athletes during practices, matches, and travel, ensuring safety and discipline.
Collaborate with the varsity coach and athletic director to align program goals and training methods.
Maintain communication with players, parents, and school staff regarding schedules and expectations.
Ensure proper care and use of equipment and uniforms.
Comply with school, league, and diocesan athletic policies and safety guidelines.
Support the spiritual mission of the school by modeling faith-based leadership and values.
Experience playing and/or coaching volleyball, especially at the youth or high school level.
Strong understanding of volleyball fundamentals and team development.
Practicing Catholic preferred; must support the mission of Catholic education.
Ability to mentor and motivate middle or high school athletes in a faith-based environment.
CPR/First Aid certification and completion of diocesan Safe Environment training required.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
