Job Title: Jira and Confluence Engineer

Location: Remote

Duration/Term: Long-Term Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Jira and Confluence Engineer with 5-7 years of expertise in workflow customization, user support, automation, and Atlassian Cloud administration . The ideal candidate will be responsible for platform configuration, troubleshooting, integration setups, and compliance management , ensuring system stability and continuous improvement .

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform Jira and Confluence configuration tasks (workflows, fields, permissions, spaces).
• Resolve incidents, service requests, and troubleshoot user issues
• Conduct routine system health checks , applying performance optimizations .
• Implement automations using Jira Automation or ScriptRunner to streamline workflows.
• Support new feature rollouts, plugin installations, and platform upgrades .
• Assist with integration setups (e.g., Slack, Git, ServiceNow ) for seamless connectivity.
• Manage user permissions, roles, and groups via Atlassian Access .
• Oversee onboarding/offboarding users , ensuring compliance with access control policies .
• Create and update technical documentation, runbooks, and support procedures .
• Follow change management workflows for system configuration updates.
• Work under L3 leads , supporting platform stability and enhancements.
• Escalate complex issues to L3 or vendor support when necessary.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• 5-7 years of experience with Jira Software, JSM, and Confluence .
• Expertise in workflow customization , field management, and automation.
• Experience in user support, troubleshooting, and ITSM tools .
• Familiarity with Atlassian Cloud administration and marketplace apps.
• Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Groovy, Python ) for automation tasks.
• Exposure to integrations and REST API usage .
• Knowledge of ITIL and Agile methodologies .
• Strong communication and troubleshooting skills to support users effectively.
