IB Librarian Job | International Baccalaureate | Teach Abroad

I am seeking a qualified and experienced Librarian that has worked with the IB curriculum before and understands the needs for the PYP, MYP and the DP. My client is part off an established group of schools located across the UAE.

the school serves an Emirati population of students, with teachers coming from mainly Western countries such as The United States of America, Canada, England, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.  all teachers are qualified with a degree in their relevant subject and a valid teaching qualification.

Teaching is done in the medium of English two nature students’ English language. 

Requirements to apply

1. Bachelor’s degree in library studies or equivalent
2. Ideally a master’s in library studies or equivalent
3. At least two years of full-time experience as a librarian
4. Train from a recognised university
5. Have a high level of written and spoken English
6. Tech savvy to use MS teams, zoom, ms office suite and google apps

You need to be a well organised person who has experience of working with teachers to set up the library in order to meet their needs of the students and the lesson.  you will be required to carry out duty such as: 

1. Collect and catalogue library resources including books, films, and publications.
2. Help people locate reference and leisure reading materials.
3. Maintain library records and ensure it is updated.
4. Perform regular audits of the information and inventory on file.
5. Educate patrons on how to properly search for information using the library databases.
6. Manage budgeting, planning, and employee activities.
7. Oversee the check-out process for books and other resource materials.
8. Organize and host book sales, author signings, and other reading events.
9. Clarify the use of library amenities and provide information about library policies.
10. Make sure the library meet the needs of precise groups of students as per the requirements from the teacher

Salary Package

Salary range, dependent upon years of experience and qualification: 

1. AED 10,000 AED to 15,675 AED per month

Minimum Application Requirements

Qualification:

Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification

Must be western trained (USA, Canada, UK, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand & South Africa)

Must be a native speaker of English

Newly Qualified Teachers are NOT considered

Prefer candidates with international experience

Additional:

**Experience of the IB Curriculum is beneficial but not essential as training will be given
**Experience of USA Curriculum such as American Harcourt, AP and Common Core is highly valued
**It will be beneficial to your application if you have experience of working in the Middle East or with non-native speakers of English

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:

A salary from 10,000 up to 15,675  AED (UAE Dirham)per month based on experience and qualification, TAX FREE

Housing:

Based on application  fully furnished Housing provided

Flights:

Flight(s) provided annual flights for the teacher only

Utility Bills:

500AED per month

Baggage Allowance:

up to 500 USD on actual reciept

Gratuity Amount:

Gratuity Amount of 1 month bonus pay for each year accrued is provided
