Position Overview:

Boll & Branch is seeking a talented and thoughtful Freelance Visual Designer to support our in-house creative team in elevating the brand's visual expression across digital and print channels. The ideal candidate has a strong design sensibility rooted in premium aesthetics, with experience creating visually compelling content for campaigns, product launches, e-commerce, email and social platforms. You bring a balance of concept and craft, and understand how to design for a refined, timeless brand like Boll & Branch.

This freelance role is ideal for a designer with experience in the luxury, lifestyle, fashion, or home space, who can work independently while collaborating effectively with creative and cross-functional teams.

This role will report directly to the Senior Art Director.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design thoughtful, premium visuals across a variety of formats—from campaign layouts and email designs to web assets and social content.
• Interpret and extend the brand's art direction across all touchpoints, ensuring consistency and visual impact.
• Support campaign development from early concepting to final execution in collaboration with the Senior Art Director.
• Collaborate with the copy, marketing, and e-commerce teams to ensure designs align with strategic messaging and seasonal product stories.
• Contribute to image selection, layout design, and asset creation that reflect the brand's commitment to warmth, craftsmanship, and elevated living.
• Execute production-ready files for both digital and print needs, maintaining the highest quality standards.
• Stay aware of visual trends in luxury, lifestyle, and design, and bring fresh, relevant ideas to the table.

Qualifications:

• 3–8 years of visual design experience, preferably in premium/luxury lifestyle, home, fashion, or beauty brands.
• A strong, elevated portfolio showcasing design across campaigns, digital platforms, and content creation.
• Deep understanding of composition, typography, color, and layout design.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects) and Figma.
• Familiarity with photography and video assets and how to design effectively with them.
• Able to work independently and take initiative, while staying connected to the broader creative direction.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

This primary location for this role is remote or Summit, NJ. We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it's helpful to have flexibility to work remotely. Currently we are operating under a hybrid model whereby all teams work in an office a minimum of two days per week (Tuesdays/Thursdays) and may be provided flexibility to work from home on other days. There may be times when you're asked to work in our New York City office because it's in the best interest of our business or your team.

This temporary assignment is expected to last for up to 18 weeks.

The temporary coverage salary range for this role is $25/hr to $60/hr. New hires are typically brought into the organization between the minimum to midpoint of the salary range posted depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. It is important to note that our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size, industry, and the market and are one part of the total rewards that we provide. Individual pay rate decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, scope of the role, and internal peer benchmarking.
