Compensation: $85,000 - $95,000/year + 13% Bonus + Full Benefits

HireNow Staffing is seeking a Food Ingredient Buyer to join a dynamic procurement team within a leading food manufacturing environment in Boston, MA. This position is ideal for someone who combines sharp negotiation skills, supply chain expertise, and a passion for food production.

The Food Ingredient Buyer will manage sourcing strategies for key raw materials, ensuring a balance of quality, cost, and supply reliability. This role requires a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can build strong supplier partnerships, and understands how ingredient procurement directly impacts production and product quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and manage sourcing strategies for food ingredients and raw materials

• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with vendors to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality standards

• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, monitoring performance and ensuring compliance with specifications and certifications

• Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams to align ingredient sourcing with product innovation and operational needs

• Monitor commodity markets and identify risks or opportunities in ingredient pricing and availability

• Ensure uninterrupted supply by forecasting demand, managing inventory levels, and developing contingency plans

• Support sustainability and traceability initiatives within the supply chain

• Maintain accurate purchasing records, contracts, and reports in ERP and procurement systems

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Food Science, or a related field

• 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably within food or CPG industries

• Strong understanding of food ingredients, suppliers, and commodity trends

• Proven negotiation skills and the ability to manage multiple suppliers/contracts simultaneously

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams

• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary $85,000 - $95,000 annually
