Job Description

Diggers' Mirth Collective Farm is a 15 acre collectively-owned and operated organic vegetable farm located in the Intervale in Burlington, VT. We are a six person collective looking to hire an experienced person for our farm crew for the 2026 season. We care deeply about social justice, food access, the community where we live and work, and each other. We love what we do and are looking for a hardworking, industrious, fun person to round out the team.

Main tasks include hand and mechanical harvesting, wash/pack, tarping, handweeding, cultivating, irrigation, transplanting, and other general farm projects.

Farming is hard and sometimes gross work that takes a good deal of physical and emotional stamina. We strive for a healthy work/life balance and try to make it as joyful and sustainable as possible without sacrificing productivity and pace. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working outside in all types of weather, has clear and direct communication skills, is adept at balancing speed and quality of work, and is reliable and punctual. We’re a playful bunch, and we’re looking for someone who fits well with us: someone who is able to balance being silly with working hard, is community-minded, and loves participating in a poorly-choreographed dance routine (not required). The ideal candidate is a quick learner with an eye for accuracy and efficiency, has a good sense of humor and at least two years of mid-sized production farm experience. Strong candidates with other relevant experience in fast paced and/or manual labor fields will be considered.

This is a four-day/week position, Monday-Thursday, 7:30-4:30 including a paid lunch break. We occasionally start earlier on high-heat days. Schedule and hours sometimes fluctuate in the early and late season. The season runs from early/mid May to mid-November. We’re looking for someone who can commit to the entire season.

Wage is $18-$20 an hour, based on experience. Additional benefits include one week paid vacation time, one week paid sick time, free produce, and an unparalleled work environment. Plus, you get to work with us, and we're so fun! If interested, please email your resume to diggersmirthcollectivefarm@gmail.com and tell us a little about yourself, any relevant experience or skills, and why you'd like to work with us. BIPOC, women, and queer & trans folks are strongly encouraged to apply.
