AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Environmental Scientist . This is an entry-level position in AECOM’s Environment Business Line within the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Technical Practice Area; position will report to EHS Department in AECOM’s Atlanta, Georgia office. The Environmental Scientist will work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member in support of a variety of EHS projects, including but not limited to, hazardous material surveys, environmental site assessments, multi-media site investigations, environmental audits, health and safety related surveys and assessments, and environmental compliance plans and permitting.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Entry-level position in AECOM’s Environment Business Line within the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Technical Practice Area; position will report to EHS Department in AECOM’s Atlanta, Georgia office.
  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member on a variety of EHS projects, including but not limited to: hazardous material surveys, environmental site assessments, multi-media site investigations, environmental audits, health and safety related surveys and assessments, and environmental compliance plans and permitting.
  • Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
  • Collect and enter data and apply technical principles and theories.
  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

Entry-level position; does not require previous experience.

Qualifications



Minimum Requirements:

  • BS in Environmental Science or demonstrated equivalency of education.
  • Must have a valid U.S driver’s license and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.

  • Excellent technical writing and organizational skills
  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Strong working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications, including MS Word, and Excel
  • Ability to conduct field work
  • Prior related intern and/or professional experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform detail-oriented work.
  • Experience with database development, usage, and data analytics.
  • Autodesk and/or ArcMap proficiency.
  • Air modeling and/or permitting experience.
  • Willingness/ability to be in the field and travel.
  • OSHA 10-Hour trained.
  • HAZWOPER 40-Hour trained.
  • EPA AHERA asbestos inspector accreditation.
