Dental Hygienist

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice in Virginia Beach. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality preventative dental care while ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and root planing
• Conduct thorough oral examinations and document patient conditions
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed
• Apply preventative materials including fluoride and sealants
• Provide patient education on oral hygiene techniques and preventative care
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
• Sterilize instruments and equipment according to OSHA standards
• Assist dentist during procedures as needed
• Perform preliminary screenings and refer findings to dentist
• Maintain operatory cleanliness and readiness between patients

Required Qualifications

• Current Virginia Dental Hygienist license
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
• Current CPR certification
• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience preferred
• Proficiency in dental software systems
• Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA regulations
• Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail

Schedule

Full-time position with regular business hours Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturday availability may be required.
