Job Description
Inter-Orient Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Customs Entry Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working at a Customs Brokerage for 3-5 years.
Duties
Clear shipments & filing entry for importers and work with U.S. Customs and other government agencies.
Handle classification, billing & delivery orders.
Ensure all content is accurate, well-researched, and follows FDA regulations (if applicable).
Working with other members of the team and other depts to ensure shipments are cleared, invoiced and arranged for delivery.
Tracking and tracing of shipments with carriers, freight forwarders and CFS on the availability of imported shipment.
Provide customers with US Customs updates.
Assist in other work-related responsibilities as required by the company
Qualifications
3-5 years or more experience working with a customs broker/freight forwarder.
Familiarity with industry-specific topics such as sales, FDA regulations, freight, EDI, contract, NVOCC, Logistics, price, customer relationship management, and transportation.
Experience in classification of cargo from commercial documents, and referencing cargo with U.S. Customs.
Current knowledge of the General Rules of Interpretation, HTSUS, and binding rulings.
Broker license is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
