The Chief Technology Officer establishes and executes the organization's technology structures by investigating and understanding informational and operational requirements; contributing new technology information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction; establishing new technology objectives in line with organization objectives; preparing technology introduction, information and system conversion, and human/technology integration programs. Oversees the research and development function. Maintain awareness of technological advances in order to retain the organization's competitive advantage. Possesses knowledge of regulatory requirements and intellectual property issues.

Required Skills - Provides vision, forward thinking and strategic planning in a proactive manner while being open-minded and creative in establishing a strategic direction. - Leads the strategic planning process for the respective department. As plans are developed, these plans and objectives are integrated within the plans of the healthsystem. Works with others in leadership to identify and evaluate programs and emerging technologies.

Engages staff in efforts to contain costs and improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of services. Understands the basics of health care financial management.

Identifies program or service growth opportunities and methodologies to enhance revenues. Able to manage to a volume adjusted budget.

- With the assistance of direct reports, develop processes and procedures which are effective, efficient and aligned with organizational goals and values. Responsible for coordinating and integrating intra-hospital services. Ensures division has qualified staff and needs resources to deliver safe quality care and outcomes. Establishes performance standards with which to measure effectiveness and efficiency of services.
- Able to develop others through setting clear expectations, mentoring and coaching, and holding others accountable for results. Utilizing work force analysis, identifies required competencies needed for effective management of human resources and can identify short and long-term staffing needs.
- Leverage the unique system capabilities to increase value for external and internal customers and eliminate barriers to care. Participate in community involvement.
Required Experience Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or related field with additional professional degrees preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in IT leadership roles, preferably in a healthcare environment. The candidate should have a proven track record in managing IT systems and infrastructure, for medium-sized healthcare organizations, along with extensive experience working with EHR/EMR platforms such as Epic and cloud-based technologies.
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or related field with additional professional degrees preferred.
- Certifications such as CHCIO, CISSP, or PMP are desirable.
