The role

We're hiring a Category Buyer to join our dynamic team in Brooklyn, NY - right at the heart of our fastest-growing market. In this fast-paced role, you’ll play a key part in shaping efficient, value-driven supply chains and ensuring we source the right products at the right price from trusted suppliers who align with our core values. It's a unique opportunity to make a real impact and help build something meaningful from the ground up.

• Working to develop a strategy specifically focussing on how our suppliers can support us to deliver our big goals in the US.
• Working closely with the NPD and technical teams to understand what materials they need to produce the best product, as well as providing support and advice on possible supply chain challenges.
• Supplier relationship management; building on existing supplier relationships and striking up successful new ones with suppliers both from the US, and other countries.
• Ensuring all suppliers and ingredients meet Huel’s high technical, ethical and sustainability standards and that any new suppliers are robust and can keep up with Huel’s growing demand.
• Negotiating the best costs for the materials we buy.

What we're looking for in you

This role would be best suited to someone who has had 2-3 years exposure to buying/procurement, ideally in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment, but not essential. What is key is that you are: 

• A commercially minded individual with a passion for sustainability.
• Enthusiastic about the Huel brand and products we want to launch - You’ll be representing our business to suppliers after all!
• We work in a fast paced environment so flexibility will be key in this role as everyone wears a lot of hats and requirements change all the time.
• Ability to use your own initiative and be proactive with a high level of attention to detail. 
• Strong analytical skills and a good knowledge of Google Sheets would be an advantage
• Super communication skills that can ensure you get what is needed from both internal and external partners.

💸 A competitive salary range of $90,000-$100,000 per annum depending on your skills and experience

🕖 Hybrid working - We spend Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays in the office together. The remaining two days have the option to be worked from home.
