### About the Role
As a Bookkeeper/Payroll Accountant, you will be responsible for processing payroll, managing financial records, and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations. You'll collaborate closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely reporting, providing essential support to both internal staff and clients.
### Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll for multiple clients on a weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly basis.
- Maintain accurate and well-organized financial records.
- Prepare and verify payroll reports, including tax reports, 401(k) contributions, and benefit deductions.
- Review, reconcile, and post payroll data into accounting software.
- Manage employee records, including pay rate changes, employment status, and personal details.
- Monitor and update employee time and attendance records.
- Process employee reimbursements and expense reports.
- Address payroll inquiries and provide clear communication to clients on payroll-related matters.
- Review and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
- Support the accounting team by participating in meetings and contributing to special projects as needed.
### What We're Looking For
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in bookkeeping, payroll processing, or accounting.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll processing, tax regulations, and accounting principles.
- Software Skills: Experience with accounting and payroll software (QuickBooks Online preferred).
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and accuracy in maintaining records.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Communication: Strong customer service and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
