Job Description

As an Accounts Receivable Specialist you will work with various payors, address claim issues, and work them to resolution. You will research claim status with carriers via multiple portals to reach a resolution and payment of claims.

Place outbound calls to insurance companies, guarantors, patients, doctors’ offices, and/or facilities and handle incoming calls as necessary, utilizing proper customer service protocol.

Responsibilities of this role:

• Obtain claims status, prepare & submit reconsiderations, and submit follow-up appeals to payers and document all work performed in the practice management system.
• Assess accounts to determine the next appropriate course of action per company policies and procedures.
• Place outbound calls to insurance companies, guarantors, patients, doctors’ offices and/or facilities and handle incoming calls as necessary utilizing proper customer service protocol.
• Process related correspondence from insurance companies and perform pertinent follow-up.
• Escalate issues to Team Lead or Managers as necessary
• Duties may vary by payer
• Adheres to and supports organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned
